Story

About the work

A full-blown rose with broad, wavy petals crowns a small, rounded vase in crackled white. A large leaf with incised veins wraps around it, and the raku firing has given its glaze green and copper glints, while the rose's red deepens in the hollows of the petals. A second photo shows the piece still unfired, modelled petal by petal.
