Story
About the work
A crow in three-quarter view stands on shadowed rock at the centre of an ensō, the Zen circle drawn in a single gesture, laid here in torn gold leaf. The poured ground mixes smoke grey, ivory and blush, and the blue-black plumage is built feather by feather. As the light moves, parts of the leaf shift from gold to violet. The canvas hung in her booth at MTL Uncovered in Montréal.
