Story
About the work
A tiger in right-facing profile, painted in layered whites, ambers and bold black stripes, its whiskers drawn one by one against a black ground. Around the head, copper leaf swirls in stripe-like forms that carry the coat outward.
“Through struggle, the tiger emerges stronger and more fierce.”
Step by step
From canvas to gold leaf
IFirst stage: the tiger painted over a poured acrylic ground.
IISecond stage: copper leaf laid by hand, before the last stripes.
